Vision

"To establish a unified, credible, and sustainable framework for naturopathic medicine in Africa, integrating scientific research, indigenous knowledge, ethical practice, and spiritual wellnessto improve health outcomes for all Africans."

Mission

The African Naturopathic Federation is dedicated to:

  • Advancing naturopathic education, research, and professional training across Africa.
  • Developing a continental African naturopathic accreditation framework that aligns national education systems with shared continental standards.
  • Establishing a Continental African Naturopathic Professional Examination Board.
  • Promoting ethical, evidence-based practice and professional regulation.
  • Providing legal guidance and support to member organizations and practitioners.
  • Supporting harmonization of regulatory frameworks for naturopathy and complementary medicine.
  • Strengthening collaboration among African practitioners, institutions, and policymakers.
  • Advocating for recognition of naturopathy as a legitimate and integral part of African healthcare systems.

Phase 1 · 2026 – 2027

Foundation & Institutional Development

Focus: Establish legal, governance, and membership structures; begin advocacy for recognition.

Actions

  • Finalize ANF constitution, bylaws, governance policies.
  • Form executive leadership team and regional representatives.
  • Create Advisory Council for legal and regulatory guidance.
  • Launch membership registration and online platform.
  • Submit letters of intent to AU, WHO AFRO, WAHO for recognition.
  • Initiate MOUs with WNF, AYUSH Ministry (India), TCM bodies, and other global partners.
  • Conduct mapping of existing naturopathic education programs across member states.

Expected Outcomes

  • ANF legally established and recognized continentally.
  • Continental and global communication channels initiated.
  • Foundational curriculum and education standards drafted.
